Here is your handy catch-up post for the charts so far
As most regular readers know, I ‘waste’ inordinate amounts of time compiling data drawn from online sales sites into manga bestseller charts.
I’ve fallen quite far behind recently, but I’m working at a ridiculous pace to catch up – I’ve posted a few updates to my twitter, but mostly I’ve been sneaking the updates in, backdating them so they show up in the blog archives on the appropriate date.
Since I just posted a 15-week summary chart, I thought it would be best to also post links for the year so far:
Week 1, 2 Jan : index/summary & full chart
Week 2, 9 Jan : index/summary & full chart
Week 3, 16 Jan : index/summary & full chart
Week 4, 23 Jan : index/summary & full chart
Week 5, 30 Jan : index/summary & full chart
Week 6, 6 Feb : index/summary & full chart
Week 7, 13 Feb : index/summary & full chart
Week 8, 20 Feb : index/summary & full chart
Week 9, 27 Feb : index/summary & full chart
Week 10, 6 Mar : index/summary & full chart
Week 11, 13 Mar : index/summary & full chart
Week 12, 20 Mar : index/summary & full chart
Week 13, 27 Mar : index/summary & full chart
2011 Q1 Winter Cumulative Manga Bestsellers : index/summary & full chart
For those not familiar with the quarterly chart (not surprising, considering this is only the third time I’ve posted such) it lists the Top 2500 Manga Volumes and Top 100 Series for a given fiscal quarter. Handy info to have — and as a summary post many one-time errors and outliers get buried under an avalanche of other data.
Speaking of Outliers, for those of you who have read Gladwell’s book: I’ve hit my 10,000 hours for this project. I’m past the strictly experimental stage: This is for keeps, and for reals.
I know you probably don’t want a comment on your last post, but I find your insights valuable.
I have owned a comic book store for about 28 years now.
I chose to add new and used books to my mix a few years ago. I don’t believe all bookstores are doomed.
Start your own bookstore. It doesn’t have to be grand, just something that is your own.
