Serious question!
What Is The Best Paleolithic Analogue To Your Current Laptop/Phone/Tablet/Primary-Internet-Interface:
- a walking stick of convenient length? [carried always, out of habit, but of limited-actual-defined-functionality]
- a handy discarded antler? [a fine tool, and one that lets you properly knapp flint cores but not a solution in-and-of-itself]
- a bone needle? [small, portable, does the One Thing well but not a multi-tasker]
- a knapped-flint hand axe? [the prototypical—and still, thousands of years later, the ultimate—multitool]
- fire? [necessary for all daily tasks, processing food, light, heat, religion, and life]
Is your “daily carry” a tool in-and-of-itself, or is it merely a toy? Does it enable you? or restrict you?

Yes, all the links are broken.
On June 1, 2015 (after 6 years and 11 months) I needed to relaunch/restart this blog, or at least rekindle my interest in maintaining and updating it.
Rather than delete and discard the whole thing, I instead moved the blog -- database, cms, files, archives, and all -- to this subdomain. When you encounter broken links (and you will encounter broken links) just change the URL in the address bar from www.rocketbomber.com to
archive.rocketbomber.com.
I know this is inconvenient, and for that I apologise. In addition to breaking tens of thousands of links, this also adversely affects the blog visibility on search engines -- but that, I'm willing to live with. Between the
Wayback Machine at Archive.org and my own half-hearted preservation efforts (which you are currently reading) I feel nothing has been lost, though you may have to dig a bit harder for it.
As always, thank you for reading. Writing version 1.0 of Rocket Bomber was a blast. For those that would like to follow me on the 2.0 -
I'll see you back on the main site.

I’d say my phone’s a a knapped-flint hand axe. I’m not into updating gadgets as well, and my phone’s still the best in providing me the best service ever.

I’m too old school ~ “man, I’m so old school that when I was young, it was just “school”, because the first “new school” had not happened yet” ~ that I often don’t carry my electronic gear with me.
So ~ my 4.3” Android player / ebook reader, walking stick. Its useful for a couple of things, some of them (like self defense weapon) not the MOST useful for that but better to have it than nothing.
My Nook Color, close to an antler, though it does several things well, not just one.
My primary net interface is a broken down netbook with a USB compact keybard, actually plugged in via ethernet, so I don’t know WHAT that is.

Comments will be selectively re-instated on a post-by-post basis depending on the subject and the capricious whims of the blog staff.
I decided in this case that perhaps the question at the end wasn’t rhetorical, and that some might benefit from hearing what others have as a “daily carry”.
(my phone is an old flip model, pay as you go, I never have it with me. My daily carry is a 15” laptop – that being the smallest size to pack a keyboard I can actually use – sticking to the conceit above I’d call it a flint axehead that I’ve lashed to a conveniently sized stick)
ps. comments default to off, and the option to comment expires after 1 week from post date. for future reference.
